Has anyone tried the new Uniroyal Larado Cross County tire on an explorer say 2002 and up?
Looking for new shoes for my 2002, ran across these and found fair deal. They seem to be a great tire but not many reviews posted.
Anybody have experience with them?
And, No, I don't want to pay for the Mich. LTX M&S or Cross Terrain. I know they are good tires but they can't possibly be that much better than the Larado. Can they? at $ 60.00 more per tire!
I talked to a co-worker today who runs them on his SUV. If you are not doing much off-roading they are as good as any. the load range is fine for your vehicle and they have a reasonably quiet all season tread.
Have a set of nokian Vatiivas on my 05 explorer. (came with the vehicle) Love them, great all around tire. A bit pricey tho, $213 each cdn funds. Had bad luck with uniroyals in the past. (belt seperation)
It looks like I may be a little late here... but anyway...
I have a set of these on my Suburban in a 265/75-16 size and they have just over 47,000 miles on them with about 40% tread left. The traction is great in the rain and snow. I plan to buy these again for the Suburban when it needs new tires, and probably for my '97 Explorer also.
Thanks for the input guys. After now driving some time on my new Larado Cross Countries, they are possibly the best tire I have ever owned.
Very smooth and quiet. Handle very well on dry road and No problems at all in heavy rains this week. Don't be afraid to try these, save your money. All 4 new tires+4-wheel alignment+tax=$ 597.00
No bad at all, especially when compared to Michelin!
I'm running a set of these uniroyals on my 2000 F250 super duty xlt dsl. Had them replaced after 7 days, 1st set badly out of round, 2nd set not much better. May be my last set of uniroyals. I expected better for $135.00 per tire.
