351m vs 400 tranny swap

351m vs 400 tranny swap
Hiya!
I have a 78 with a 351, and just bought another 78 this one with a 400. The 400 truck, sits better, ahndles better etc, than my truck with the 351 so im gonna keep teh 400a sa driver and part the 351.
So the 400's only problem is the dash lights are out, i think i can fool around adn fix that, and the trany is jumping.
Youl be fine while driving but when you go it kinda creeps adn bumps to where it belings.
Both trucks are automatics, dont know which trany, can the trany on a 351 be swapped to the 400?
Im gonna check teh fluids and all, but i dunno it might need to be swapped...

OKay,
Took alot of reading but you guys kinda already answered my question in previous posts lol before i came here.
So, lets make sure im not wrong.
The 351M and 400 are teh same, excat bolt on parts wiht onyl a different stroke, im not swapping teh engines only the trany so that doesnt matter to me right?
SO I CAN switch teh trany outta my 351M adn put it in place of teh 400. I should be able to sue the drive shaft in teh 400 thats already there or no? I need to use teh one in teh 351? Which would be fine cuz its cutsom built by a shop, i blew up mine real good doing burnouts wiht my 351 lol, the uni's all expleded it was a crazy blow up scared everybody lol...
What is a good rear so i can tell them apart for this truck adnsee if i should swap them too, im gonna just pillage teh 351 for all teh parts i need.
The 400 is from 1988, the 351M i THINK is original, not sure though...
