Cool 08 f450 fue question??help!!

<TABLE><TBODY><TR><TD vAlign=top width="100%">HELLO ALL new to the forum. I just drove from MIAMI to NEW YORK and back!, spent $1600 on fuel!!!!!!!!! what can I do in order to get better fuel mileage?? I have spoken with BANKS power and a couple of other companies out there and nobody has anything new. I drove at a speed limit of about 68-71 usually on cruise control on I95 and the mileage clock showing me 10.6 mpg nothing less! Is it possible to get rid of that damn particulate filter, I believe that is the cause for the horrible fuel mileage. Has anybody out there heard of anything new? I have also spoken to some of the diesel mechanics at these ford dealers and one specifically told me that "FORD" has become smarter and that if you try to do anything to this engine that it has a self preservation chip that will kill the ignition not letting you drive! "bull****!"! this mechanic probably thinks he is FORD! But any information will sure help from all of you aout there in F450 land!!!

Here you go.

SCT is the best hands down. They have tuning to get rid of the DPF as well. I believe running a tuner and removing the DPF will void your powertrain warrenty though.

If you drove from Miami to N.Y. it should be around 1500 or 1600 miles. If you got 10 miles to a gallon. That's 160 gallons times $3.50 per gallon =$560.00 Or 160 gallon times $3.65=$584.00. Did you leave a trail from Florida to N.Y. I just drove from N.Y. to Tampa and got a whopping 10.6 mpg. I also have a 450 4x4, like dzldude dais what do you want from a truck that can pull so much weight. Sorry didnt see the back part. It still should have been around 1100 or 1200 dollars.
