Strong fuel smell after refuel

Within the last few weeks anytime after it is refilled there is a strong gas odor around the wifemobile, '03 Expy. There are no leaks or anything on the ground, could this be a purge valve somewhere or something worse, hopefully it's not the gast tank needing replacement.
Anyone come across something like this?

If it's not a liquid leak, you should get a code P0455 or P0442 if the Evap system is leaking.

had similar issue with wife's 89 Aerostar..strong fuel smell right after refueling...turned out to be crack on the top of the plastic fuel tank.

I finally got a chance to look at this. Pulled the tank and found stains around filler next attach at the tank. Can't see any cracks though, just stains from obvious leakage.
