Question 99 Ford Explorer Camber Caster Assistance Needed

Hey,
I'm needing some assistance. After taking my wife's truck in for an alignment, I was advised we needed all these parts replaced and they would be happy to do it for me and charge me $600 - YEAH RIGHT!
So, I got the parts myself and figured I would change out the parts and save myself some $$.
I've replaced the lower ball joints, re-packed the bearings and replaced the brakes (hey! I had the tires off, huh?)...Now, I'm onto the "camber caster kit". I've been doing my own auto repair for a long time, but, not much with suspension, etc...I cannot figure out how and where these replacements go. The kit I bought is a set of 4 washer looking-like things, with D-SHAPED holes.
Can somone advise me? Gotta get this done tonight...she's got plans tomorrow.
A diagram would be so helpful and I've searched the web up and down and cannot get anywhere.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Martin, those oval washers install on the ends of the upper control arms, where they replace square or rectangular washers. The replacements can be turned to adjust camber/caster, where the stock washers are fixed.

Don't know where you can find instructions, but it'll be obvious how they work when you remove the large nut and access the washers on the upper control arm.....

Thanks for the response, I see on the passenger side where I believe they would go but the drivers side has no adjustments! but at the auto part store they had two versions , the one I didnt get had 4-long bolts, thinking of the bolts I wondered if they went under the truck next to the oil pan???
Should I just take it for alignment???, at $45.00 a side(to install) caster -camber kit at the shop. After me and my 14-year old son replaced the lower ball-joints,packed the wheel bearings, and replaced front brakes. I just cant see paying $90.00 for this!!!
I've been doing searches on this site ,and one post said kit may not be needed but that was after replacing uppers which I didnt do.
Thanks Marty

Marty, since you've replaced the lower ball-joints, the camber kit might not be needed. You can take a small carpenters level and check the camber of the wheels yourself. If they're close to 0* (straight up), the kit's unnecessary.

I installed the kit on my passenger side last year, and it was fairly easy and simple. The driver's side was within spec, so I left it alone. You can do a search on this site for "front end alignment", and get lots of info on doing your own alignment using a level, tapemeasure, string, etc.

As long as you have not lifted your Explorer by doing a torsion twist you shouldn't need the adjusters.

I will tell you the left side is a PIA to remove the old adjusters and install new ones as the ABS lines, fuel lines and transmission lines are all in the way.
