1964 F-100 conversion to F-250 capabilities
Back from a hiatus rebuilding an 88 Samurai to be used as a daily driver/trail buggy. High gas prices makes one do such things.
Focusing back on my 64 Ford, my bed is shot, and I'm probably going to build a flatbed for it. While I've got the bed off, I am thinking about boosting it to a 3/4 ton or 1 ton capacity for my scrap metal hauling.
Here are some questions:
- Were the F-100's and F-250's similar from a frame/cab standpoint in 1964? Where I'm going is...is it possible to make an "authentic" 1964 F-250 starting with a F-100 cab/frame?
- If I can't use 1964 F-250 parts, what do I need to do to get a "legitimate" 3/4 ton or 1 ton (if possible) capacity out of my F-100? (I've had 3/4 ton on it, but I wouldn't want to do THAT on a regular basis without some beefing up)
