Just want to say Hi, I signed up a while back, but didn't post for a while.
I live in Eagle Bend, MN.
For starters I have a 1954 F100, which I bought from my brother 2 years ago. Originally it was a 250, but he shortened the frame and put a Camaro front clip on it. It's heart is (I didn't do it my brother did) a 383 Chevy stroker crate motor roughly 400 hp with a turbo 400 tranny. It has 4.10 gears with a detroit locker. Right now it's about 60% finished, but it needs most the sheetmetal, the cab has been already sandblasted and primered. I have the innerfenders already on and I have 2 hoods that are usable, and then the grille. So pretty much I need the front fenders, running boards, box sides, rear fenders, and then a front and rear roll pan (don't want bumpers).
I know, I know this is a ford site, and it's barely half a ford left. haha
So, I'm looking for the cheapest front and rear fenders, preferrable steel for the front and the 3 inch wider rear fenders. The bed sides and running boards, also preferably steel running boards.
As for our other vehicle we have:
My 1995 Dodge 2500 Cummins 4x4 flatbed 5 spd, 4.10 gears - 316000 miles and haven't done any major repairs other then the starter and the clutch.
Dad's 2006 Dodge 3500 Cummins 4x4 dually, diamond plate flatbed 6 spd, 4.10 gears, 5 inch exhaust and some kind of chip (we bought it and didn't know it had one)
1977 Ford F350, 351, 4 spd, dump box, oh and lime green **** carpet, haha.
Welcome to the board. I don't see any thing wrong with what you've got. I'm putting a 350 TPI in my 50f1. It's mine I don't thing I have to satisfy anybody but me. From one darksider to another. Welcome. ........................RUSTY
Thanks, before I bought it from my brother, we took it to a swap meet at Back To the 50's (big car show here in MN). There was a lot of guys who would walk up and look at it then look in the engine bay and walk away shaking their head.
Now if it would have been my choice you'd see a good ol' 5.9 12 valve cummins with a set of twins sitting in there. haha
90% of the people that go to those shows don't even have a truck or a project of any kind and wouldn't now what to do or where to start if they did. I've had guys ask me why I'm doing mine the way I am and I just ask um to bring their truck over and let me see what they have. They just walk away. Because they don't have one. Those people don't bother me at all. ............RUSTY
Rusty: I really don't care what drivetrain somone uses (its fun to tease a few people though ) as long as they are rescuing one from certain death.
However, I am one of the ones that walks away shaking my head when I see the other brand drivetrain in an old ford. If you look at my Ozarks run pics, you see all the trucks, but only the ford engine pics.
You know where mine is if you want to see it.
It is fun to tease Rusty. I used to tease hotrod48, but he is on the HAMB now most of the time.
