Banks Performance Parts???

I am considering purchasing the Banks Power Ram Air Intake and the 3 inch Monster dual exhaust, and maybe sometime in the future the torque tube headers. Does anyone have any experience with these parts. I know they make huge power with their diesel parts but do they do the same for the gas engines? Or would I be better off buying a flowmaster or magnaflow with a K & N induction?

I did some research into the banks exhaust before I bought my Magnaflow, but was steered away from it by the owner of a diesel shop who had run into issues with the Banks exhaust rusting badly (about a year), and banks not honoring the warranty. He said he'd sell it, but wouldn't recommend it, better off going with another company. I went with the magnaflow, and couldn't be happier after 2 years.

I had the Banks monster exhaust and the 77 series polished K&N intake on my 04 F150. I had no problems whatsoever with the exhaust. It was very easy to put on (15 minutes) and it sounded great (not to loud). Because it was stainles steel I never had any rust issues, it will turn a light brown color but not rust. The intake was fairly easy to install as well. The intake was a little noisy @ about 2500 rpms. In all it woke up the truck a little, I'm sure if I had bought a programer it would have made a bigger difference.

Did anyone see the Banks super charger install on a F-150 on spike Tv over the weekend? It must be some R&D product because I dont see any info on it anywhere.

If you go with the banks powerpack you will be dissapointed. Gas engines just dont make any more power than that is there. You might get a 5-7% increase in power. Hardly enough to notice. The Banks stuff is big money.

I have the powerpack on my V10 and the only noticable powergain is above 3k rpm.

Buy a tuner and you will get a seat of the pants difference. Mostly because of the tranny tuning.

Like always.......just one mans opinion.

drewk86,

I have the Banks Monster Duals on my 2004 F150 for about 4 months now and I absoluetly love it. It's not loud and in your face like some of the Flowmaster systems I have heard. More of a refined rumble.

Not sure if I get any better performace, but the look, sound and overall quality is outstanding. I would recommend the system.

Doug

(PS, I think you can see a photo of the back of my truck in the gallery, if you want to see what it looks like installed.)

I have the single Banks Monster Exhaust on my '07 5.8. As Doogie said, nice low rumble without the tinny popping of alot of systems. No excessive noise at cruising speeds, but has a slight drone when accellerating slowly. I would definately recommend it however. As for price...I found it reasonably comparable to Volant, Gibson, etc...in the stainless. The tip looks a little large initially, but grows on you...I'm always getting asked how much I paid for it ($500-ish). Everyone so far likes it and I'm definately the only one in my area with one. Super easy installation, perfectly fitted...I did it in my garage with simple tools in about 45 minutes total.

I thought Banks made an oil-free high flow air filter and intake for the 150. I just bought an '07 150 and she's a bit sluggish (4.6l). MY other 4.6 has a cat back magnaflow exhaust and a k&n air intake and she gots all kindsa pep in her step. I would like to replicate this with the new girl.
I was going to go for rims and rubber but then decided on subs, cat back exhaust and air intake.
How does the Banks air intake system werk out? I would like to try something other then the K&N system...just to try soemthing different.
