I have an 05 Excursion Eddie Bauer 4x4 with the 6.0 powestroke. It has a Banks Six Gun, S&D Air Intake, Sinister EGR Delete, Banks Hi Ram Intake, Banks Intercooler, and Banks 5" Monster Exhaust. Last night coming home from a road trip as I accelerated to pass a car, I lost all power coasted to the side of the highway and the truck wouldn't start back up. Any ideas?
The Banks exhaust and intercooler are great products.....all the other Banks products are not well suited for the 6.0 diesel. The intake is also not recommended for the 6.0 as it has been know to dust the turbo. The original intake is really tough to beat.... good up to 500 HP.
A friend of mine with a 2010 F550 Dually said I may have tripped the fuel safety switch when I floored it to pass the car last night. Is that possible?

You have to hit something or someone has to hit you pretty hard to trip that thing....that said, I don't think you did.
I'd still check it just in case...it's located on the passenger side kick plate.
I.e. open the passgenger side door right below the glovebox towards the passenger side you should find a hole. Push down on it with your index finger, if it goes down and clicks, you know the problem was.
Well that wasn't it. Any members here from Atlanta know a diesel mechanic in north Atlanta that won't screw me?

My friend came over with his code reader and it didn't give any kind of major code. It did take forever to get it to work, kept giving a linking error. He thinks it may be the crank sensor but when we looked where it was on his old 7.3 he said he didn't see it. Where is the crank sensor on a 6.0?
Run through the no-start list as mentioned above. Your friend is obviously not familiar with the 6.0 and it will be a waste of time to have him diagnose it without that knowledge.

Yeah, thanks for the big assist. Don't have time to read a 30 page post with abbreviations that I know nothing about to find "check the crank sensor". If I knew where the crank sensor was I woulden't be asking,
Mr bull dog more than likely not crank sensor or even cam sensor. It also takes a really good code reader to pull codes on these if there is no CEL on , so maybe try auto zone or advance they will do it for free. Also guessing at what is wrong with these motors will not work and if you start throwing parts at it can get expensive. JMO
