I recently purchased an Edge Evolution. I am very impressed with the unit but it seems to keep losing power. I will be driving along and look over at the gauge pod and it has the screen that says the hex file and to press enter. Sometimes the previous information will still be there other times it will reset itself. It seems like it must be something to do with the cable but I could not get it to go off while I was twisting the cable. It seems to be clipped into the back of the unit correctly. I emailed Edge but of course no reply as of yet. Any ideas?
Yeah ill second mbogosia, I dont own one but I emailed them a (prepurchase) question regarding the edge and its been nearly 2 weeks and havent heard from them yet. Im sure they get a lot of mail but if your gonna provide a email for support and dont support, whats the point of providing the email addy for support.
Makes me wonder if they cant answer a simple prepurchase question, how they are suppose to provide support.
Anyway my 2cents......
OK,I'll bite. Have you checked the connections at the OBDII port & the Edge connector ? The symptom you describe is also a precusor to a battery voltage problem.
i have the same problem just discovered it two days ago I think mine is the connections to the programmer itself. I need to call edge as well. Be very careful if you reprogram don't move anything while it is programming. I wouldn't reprogam until you get this figured out.
I have the same problem as well and emailed Edge tonight. Guess I will give them a call on Wednesday. I know for a fact that mine flashes on and off because the clip that holds the OBD cord in place on the back of the unit is broken and does not hold the cord securely. When I hold the cord in tightly, no problems.
Agree with Soxfan - get your truck into level 0 and leave it there until this is figured out.
I will make sure I report on my conversation with Larry and Patrick at Edge. FYI their phone numbers are 724-462-3669 and 724-272-1539.
VFR Man - you are correct. Thanks for correcting me. Larry and Patrick are from DPP. They did respond and told me to contact the people at Edge in Ogden Utah. No response yet.
Yesterday coming home from work (approximatly 10 miles) my Edge went on and off over 20 times - every time I hit a bump. It is basically no good in its current state. Useless.
I've been giving some thought to purchasing an Edge for my 07' Screw (totally stock) for towing/performance, has anyone heard back from Edge on this issue?
I just purchased my edge last week, love the thing! I want to get the best performance possible on 87 octane (damn fuel prices!). I own a 2005 F-150 5.4 3V with a mac cia and Roush exhaust, the only thing I've changed is the shift firmness (6 on all) and tire size. I'm afraid to change the timming for fear I'll granade my engine. Does anyone have any suggestions for best level one or two set up. Basicly I want the most power for the best mpg.

Just thought i'd mention this. after you program your computer all the unit on the dash does is monitor gauges or any other parameters that you set up.
When i first tried to install my edge it wouldn't power up in the truck,Called edge and they had me up and runnin in about 10 minutes, blown fuse for the cig lighter.
Had my truck on the Dyno at Road Atlanta this weekend and At level 3 with K&N drop in air filter, airraid modular intake tube and 40 series Flowmaster SIDO,
Pulled 247 hp and 334tq

I wouldn't hold up a purchase because of something like this. It sounds quite isolated. There are hundreds of guys here who run the Edge, and this is the first Ive actually heard of any issues with the hardware.
Just my .02 I have had the edge in my truck for the 2 years I have owned it. I run it on the level 2 with 89 octane all the time. I am getting about 13-14 mpg, and I do all city driving. Winter time it drops to about 10-11 due to idle times. I have a ss single in single out after cat exhaust and I love it. I want to get a Roush intake but I am not sure where to find one cheaper than 350 bucks. Anyway I would not hesitate to buy one for any of my trucks.
