Hey gang!
I am thinking of upgrading from the stock wheels to some new aftermarket wheels to give the 2000 X a fresh look. Does anyone have good or bad stories on upgraded wheels? How about pictures?
Thanks much!
PS- it is still snowing in Michigan! ICK!
I'll be watching this thread as I am toying around with doing the same thing on our '04 4x4 Excursion.
I probably won't make that big of a change, maybe 17", 18",... b/c I won't be lifting it right now and need everything to function normally (no rubs, no negative towing affects, etc...).
I've been searching the past threads, but it'd be cool to see, and hear, some of the latest info!
I'm not sure why they fit. Before I added my first lift I was able to run 305/70/16 on stock wheels at the stock height with no rubbing where most others had rubbing. I was able to run 295/75/16 with only a add-a-leaf, & then when I did the DR 3" lift the 295/75/16's looked small so I went with 315/70/17 and I have no rubbing except at full lock when I'm going over something like a speed bump, otherwise no rubbing at all. The place that did the lift had to put a 5" block in the rear like for the 4 1/2" lift because the truck sagged in the rear with the 4" block that came with the lift, and that’s with me having "B" code rear springs. The last time I was at there shop they had an 05' X in there with a 4 1/2" DR lift on 315/70/17 and I measured both our trucks & mine sat 1/4" lower than his.
The only thing I can come up with is that I have "U" or "V" code front springs, but I bought the truck brand new & I haven't changed the front springs. Maybe Ford was out of the Excursion springs the day they built mine and threw in F250 springs?
You can check out pics of the X with the DR lift & 315's if you go to my gallery & then under modifications is the web address for my Webshots page.
you need to tell us what brand, model, width, offset, finish, with tires or without, all about the tires, and the shape of the wheels. oh, and the price. just saying that you have 22"s for sale leaves alot of peple out in the open.
