The electric door locks on my 92 ranger (Supercab) became very sluggish over time. Cleaning and lubing the mechanism did not help. They barely cleared the top of the window sill and now one motor has died. Does anyone have source other than the overpriced dealer? Thanks for the info
On my 99, it's located on the drivers side inner finder, high up accross from the master cylinder. should be a green colored fastner holding the two lugs to the body.
Don't know if your ground point is located in the same place.
Sorry to thread hijack, but I have a similar issue with my 200 xlt sc. I can hear the locks trying to open the first press or two but then its like it runs out of steam.
I suddenly, intermittently, began having the same problem last fall.
Cleaned the locks underhood ground connection & it hasn't acted up since, really don't know for sure that was it, but it's begining to look like it.
The grounds didn't look bad, nor was the fastner loose or corroded. I wire brushed the lugs & fastners threads anyway, to brighten them up & snugged the fastner down good. So far so good!!!!????
