I have 74 302 out of a torino (front sump) and i need a rear sump setup for a project. I went to the junkyard and got a rear sump pan/pickup tube and pump from a late 70's f-150 4x4.
Here the question: Why do the iol pans have a different radius on the front and rear seals, and why are the mount bolts for the pump in a different location?!? I'm i losing it and accidently grabbed parts from the wrong motor or are there different 302 configuations?
Thanks alot - I'd sware the truck was a 302 but whats the difference
Ditto, you've got hold of a 351W pan. The rear radius is due to the larger rear main cap on the Windsor. Bigger main journals = larger rear cap = larger rear radius for the pan seal. The other dimensions are the same as the 302 timing cover, and pan rails from side to side and front to back.
