How do i get my Y-pipe to seal to my headers?
i have a 89 f-150 4x4 and the exhaust manifolds where cracked so i replaced them with pacesetter shorty smog legal headers i can't get the y-pipe to seal the the header. i put a bead of permatex hi temp copper rtv on the y-pipe and bolted it up and let it sit for 2 days and it still won't seal, the headers don't look dinged and the y-pipe doesn't look dinged. what am i doing wrong??
