I've got a '47 (7GC, orig 6 cyl flathead)Ford PU that was changed over to a '50 V8 flathead engine (8BA) along the line somewhere and probably a '50 transmission as there is no VIN on the trannie as in pre-'48 trannies.
The original 6 cyl was a "G" series and I believe had a "pancake" style distributor on the front rather than the more modern style on the side that came out with the "H" series Rouge 6s in the new Bonus truck line. Can anyone confirm that front distributor location?
Also, did the 6s have a different radiator and only one water pump and tube to the radiator?
Thanks, Walter Groth

I have a 47 with a flat 6,I may changing over to a V8 soon. the 6 had a 1 hose radiator.and a pancake type distribtor. also the battery was mounted on the drivers side,Its not a bad looking-running engine, but the 8 is great! tony
