[updated:LAST EDITED ON 21-Nov-02 AT 12:11 PM (EST)]On one of my '46's I actually used wheels off a late '70's-early '80's Ford van. They still use the 5 on 5 1/2 bolt pattern, but the original '46 hubcaps don't work since the later wheels use a different system for holding on the caps. Nice thing is it allows you to get 15" radials on your truck, and the wheels are dirt cheap and easy to find. But most any wheel that uses the 5 on 5 1/2 bolt pattern should work. The only thing to look for is to make sure the hub on the brake drums will fit through the hole in the center of the wheel.
Oh, and welcome to the boards, you'll find lots of usefull info here!

Gary

Hey John, I also have a 1945 1/2 ton pickup. There arent many of those around. Have you done any research on them? If not, ill just tell ya that they are quite rare. There were only about 19,000 produced. I see from your message that you seem to be updating and building your pickup the way you want. Im restoring mine to look original. Ive got it completely dismantled and am sandblasting and priming the frame.
Have you got any pictures of your pickup, or parts that you would like to get off your hands? im always looking for a cheaper method of buying stuff than having to buy them new.
