Anybody have a source for the generic ribbed rubber to cover the running boards?
Thanks!

Hi Larry - welcome to FTE

Not sure if this is what your looking for, but Mac's Antique Auto has the Rubber covers. You have to look in the catalog for Hotrods 1909-1948. Then do a search for running board cover.

Here's a link to the various catalog's they have.

Thanks!

I have an email in to Ken.
I see the pre-moulded ones at Mac's (thanks) but I'd like to find just plain old ribbed rubber that I can glue on. I'm using repro boards made back in the 50's (not sure if there's a size diff) and the pre-moulded ones are a little steep too!

Hey - your next best bet is to go to a hotrod show and go through the swap shops. You'll find a whole lot more there than you'll ever find in a catalog. Plus, from experience, you can usually find folks that will tell you how they went about doing theirs.

Good luck in your hunt. There's never an easy (or cheap) way to do what you really want!!!!

You may also find black rubber runners at places like Home Depot, just cut to fit. John

I'm going to try that John. I've found a couple places that sell the runner material but only in full rolls. That's really expensive. Unfortunately, I'm 3 hours from the nearest HD.
