I guess I am a copy cat. John ( 56FordPanel ) asked how many panels are there. And he got a good response. So I don't have a panel, but I do have a
Ford big holmes wrecker. So I decided to ask how many FTE guys have early wreckers ? I am hung up on odd & rare trucks.
I guess you could say I have 2 1/2 odd Fords, LoL All welcome to stop by and chat.
1950 Ford holmes 3 ton wrecker split boom
1952 Mercury 4-door 1-ton dually p.u.
1967 V.W. Bug 351 W powered up front.
I had a '68 F-250 tow truck but I traded it. You should post some pics of your 52 Mercury pickup in your gallery. We have similar trucks (later frames and duallys)
I would like to find a wrecker body to put on one of my F6 trucks. I'm in Ohio so it probably won't be that hard if I start looking. A 51 F6 with a wrecker or rolloff on the back would be way cool!
i dont have one but i want one. just imagine this a 59 ford short frame 2 ton going down the road with a honda civic on the roll back. now that would be cool.

Nah, just wrap a chain around something on the front and drag it along with sparks flying....
i would agree a honda civic aint worth the trouble of loading but i dout you can find a place to wrap a chian that wouldnt tear out at about 60 not that would be a bad thing. did i mention a hate ricers.
I have a 57 F600 wrecker / 390 5spd , 750 edel , headers. It's a daily driver
but still a work in progress. Next is a 2spd rear &a paint job. It has a weldbuilt
wrecker single boom, with the 50's chariot style body. It was a old firetruck
and I rescued it from a salvage yard, shortened the frame. Bed was a EBAY
find . Truck came with a fresh 390 and 6 new radials 8.25/20. All that was needed for the highway was a new hydovac ,the rest of the brake system
was already rebuilt. I really got lucky on this one with all the new parts and the condition that the body was in , it even has a chrome bumper and grill.
Yes, how come you didn't answer my question about the piston markings? The wrecker is not mine.
I have seen a 42-47 1/2 ton Ford with an old wrecker bed and I believe Weaver hand-cranked unit.
