Mich 41, I had the same trouble but only on one side. It looks like the inner one in the pic is bent more than the outer bracket. this would explain why the bolt holes don't line up where they bolt to the frame. I was able to straighten mine in the vise with a large adjustable wrench for leverage. They are spring steel and do not want to bend very easily but don't heat them or they will not be spring steel any longer. You will take the temper out of them. Steve
