rebuild kit for a 223
I've got to rebuild my 223. It was sitting for 19 years and I got it to run pretty smooth but it smokes pretty good when it gets warm and when you put some throttle on it. If anyone knows where I can get a rebuild kit for less than 800, please let me know also Does anyone know how I adjust the govenor on this engine. Thank you..

I don'y know where you are located, but I just pulled the original 223 out of my 54 F-100 that ran great. Available for less than $800 for sure. Let me know if it might be something you'd be interested in.

I don't think you will find the parts in a kit like popular engines, so you will have to piece it out. But all the stuff is readily available and usually not that expensive. I'd say you could buy all the new parts for well under $800.

My buddy is converting to a 5.o EFI and pulled his rebuilt 223 out. He wants to sell it along with the headers and he even has a Borg-Warner T-5 5 speed he adapted to it for sale. Email me and I will forward it to him,.

Mac's Antique Auto has most of the parts for the 223... Also, this may sound odd, but check AutoZone. They have listings for rebuild kits for my '62 223... And check with a couple of local machine shops... One quoted me 1300$ for a total rebuild (new everything except the block/crank/head) But said it would probabaly be less since its running good... I'm gonna drop in a v8 when my 6 dies due to the cost though...

I know that mines was done about a year ago and ws finished well under $800...I have a complete 223 with 3spd tranny for less than that available if you like...

HEY! you can find the full kit at www.kanters.com was just in their site they have all you need price was $910 for delux kit or you could just buy parts hope this helps TERRY
