tranny problem

tranny problem
At first i thought my trans wasnt going into gear because i would push the gas and nothing would happen, but i realized today that if i revved the engine real high it would move, slowly but it goes. Any thoughts about this?

if it's an automatic, you could be low on fluid....check that, and if it's got enough fluid then let me know, automatics are pretty simple.....usually
oh and when you were revving the hell out of it, you were probly slipping the clutches, because there isn't enough tranny fluid to put enough pressure on clutch packs, and servos for the bands, just to let you know, but I wouldn't worry bout it, as long as you didn't do it much!

well it was a little low sow i put some fluid in it and its still the same. Id say the transfer case is in neutral its push button and its off.
