Post Best Tuner

Hey all. I have a 2006 F-150 SWB, STD Cab, 2WD, with the 4.6L engine and automatic transmission. I want to add a tuner to my truck, but i dnt really know which one to go with. I was looking at either the new SCT tuner, the Superchips Flashpaq tuner, the diablosport tuner, or the hypertech tuner. Has anyone ever used any of these tuners before? I plan on adding more performance mods in the future such as an exhaust, intake, headers, and maybe even a supercharger in the distant future. Any advice is more than welcome.

I don't know if you had considered Bullydog, but they make a tuner for the gas burners and it's supposed to work with both the 4l and 5l engines. It may also do the v10, but I can't be sure of that.

There is no best, just best for your needs. Bully and diablo have not impressed me. I like to stay with Superchips, hypertech and sniper. My prefference is the sniper special forces, very cool stuff. I will say, if you plan on gear ratio or tire size changes make sure the tuner pick will change them in the computer. Pick a tuner by options first, then by name brand.

Here's another tuner you might like to consider.

Guys,

I know that everything should be right here but I'm still not sure which tuner is the best for the money? I know that it depends on how you drive or what you expect but I still can't make a good determination. I want good response, good MPG, and that's about it. I don't generally put my foot in it. It's a 2006 4.6L.

Any help would be appreciated.

Arrow Sct . . .

SCT Xcal2 get's my vote given the flexibility of the tunes and programmer. Price is right too @ $379 on line. It really makes your 6.0 do all that it can as well as improves mpg. Latest tunes lets you turn off ERG, add a jake brake for the tow tune and set tires, rearend ratio's too.

If you want the best tech support as well as custom tuning get a Xcal2 from Mike Troyer. He's been tuning my trucks for over 6 years and I haven't blown a motor yet.
