I need to replace the plastic trim rings that go around the door pocket. I saw someone was selling billet repops on ebay a while back. Does anyone have any info on these or any alternitives for replaceing these?
Purchased set of polished alum pocket trim, but expensive. Seller list them on ebay on occasion. Believe there is a FTE member who makes the polished alum. trim. There's also is company, believe located in Canada, reconditions them, but again pricey. Spoke with owner who described how to repair working with fiber glass. Suggest run a search in this forum under 'pocket trim' or simular, Recall both member(s) recommending the trim reconditioning shop, and member who makes the polished alum trim responded to the topic.

Made several attempts to post the url address but could not get it to link up, not sure if the web site is any good. Ran a search and under to '61-66 forum' and narrowed field to 'title' and came up with a 10/2/05 article posted by member truchfuego titled "door pocket part number". If you open up the thread there will be a referral posted that will take you to an email address. I can email and inquire if unable to locate.

They look great but are $200 for a set. Pretty expensive but I will probably get them because they are very nice looking and I won't have to worry about the crappy plastic ones breaking again.
No, they aren't cheap, but you have to remember that these are being made on a small scale. The raw material costs what it does, and the whole center after it's cut out is currently 'waste' until the maker can come up with something else to cut out of it.
I know the maker personally, and trust me, he's not been getting rich making those. It took him a year just to recover the up-front investment.
Still better than the crappy plastic ones you just know are gonna fall apart!
The maker of the pocket trims also make beautiful billet Aluminum custom cab floor mat trim for 61 ot 64 trucks. it matches the factory extruded trim that is rare.
what about the upper door panel trim (behind armrest, roller, & handle)for a 66...my truck has holes in the door from where it was there but ??? Heck I would like to get a used set for that matter
HI, Itook my stock mental panel, measured one and half inches in from the outside allthe wayround, marked and cut out with agig saw. Dress up my cut with afile ,then had both trim ring chrome for $60 in Alaska. I sure you can get chromed cheap were you live. Trim ring look GREAT. By the way the original ring were made of plastic not metal.
