After a month of denial, I have to accept that I have a head gasket leaking. I have to replace a gallon of antifreeze every 1 1/2 to 2 weeks and its not leaking externally or going in the oil. Anyway, while my truck is in my shop I have to drive my old (1980) T-bird. The biggest problem with it is it needs a new rack-pinion. Does anybody know of a website that would help me with it as much as FTE does with trucks? Hopefully it won't snow until I get my truck fixed.
Jammer,
Have you considered the following?:
1. Put some barsleak in it.
2. Retorque heads.
3. Put a lower pressure radiator cap on it.
4. Pray like hell!
All the above have proven, with some luck, to ward off the inevitable failure of a head gasket. I have personally found it is always easier to change/repair a head gasket in the spring.
Good Luck, Have Fun,
KingFisher
Kingfisher, I would like to know about the praying like hell method, can you elaberate more about it.
