F150 2004 F150 Tranny Freewheel->BAM Going into Passing Gear
I have a 2004 F150 Heritage with 4.6L auto tranny and 11K of miles.
When driving at 50+ mph and then floor it to down shift, the tranny will freewheel for 2-4 seconds and BAM! into the appropriate gear.
Under light driving the tranny runs flawlessly, but when down shifting into Passing Gear at 45-50+ mph it does the Freewheel->BAM thing. There is no sloppy shifting or slipping, nuthin when driving normal.
If going 25-30 mph, the down shift is flawless, too. The problem is only when on the highway needing and needing to pass.
My 1999 5.4L auto tranny never does any of this, it just instantly goes down into Passing Gear.
