How are the wheel opening moldings attached to Eddie Bauer/XLT Sport models? Are they simply screwed into the fender flanges, or are other attachment points used? What kind of hardware is used? I'm thinking of adding a set to my '99 XLT.
Long screws up into the underside edge of the fender lip, and a couple of push in plastic fasteners at the front. (and rear I believe) You would have to drill holes on the outer side of the fender.
They aren't really that cheap (50.00 I think), and they don't come painted anymore, are there any aftermarket equivalents? (i.e. Bushwacker, Xenon, etc)
I've looked at others, not much cheaper. So, other than the screws, no attaching hardware? I just want to be certain that I can install them without pulling fender liners and the like.
And the plastic push in thingys. If by "hardware" you mean some sort of brackets, then no it's just screwed to the fender. When I had to swap out one of my flares, I didn't have to remove the inner fender liner.
I do need to say though, that I have no experience with an Expy that doens't have flares on it, so I don't exactly know what your fenders look like.
