Converting to fuel injection from carb?
I have a 1977 Ford 351M. I have a 2bbl carb on it now. I would like to convert it to a fuel injection or TBI for better mileage. Anybody out there know what I would need to do this? And is it worth the money?

This gets thrown around in here from time to time, and is a decent idea, but not much gain in mileage, mostly it helps with driveability. There a couple of systems to choose from, the cheapest being the DIY system from Megasquirt. You have to assemble the computer, program it, find your own throttle body, and all diagnostic work is up to you. This is the system I am gonig with on a 390 and on a 300-6. Holley and Edelbrock also make systems, both are decent, but pretty spendy. The usual problems with both is a limited adjustability. Once you have moved beyond a certian point in modifications, you have to send the chip back to them to be reburned. Whether or not these systems are worth it is really up to you.
