39 truck no run need help

39 truck no run need help
I just picked up a 1939 1.5 ton truck the engine truns over great I set the points checked the plugs but I have no fire I swaped out the coil still no fire.
how do I hot wire the engine to run with out the wireing from the truck?
any help would be great.

Start at the battery and trace your power. Battery, solenoid (small wire to ignition), ignition switch, coil IN and OUT (with key in run position).
How did you 'set' your points? A 39 should have a crank mounted distributor and needs to be adjusted on a bench......... Or do you have a later engine with the dist on a stalk like a more modern engine?
