Help needed 1940 & 41 Sedan Delivery Parts!

I Need some help, I am building a 1941 Sedan Delivery (looks the same as a 1940 Standard) and need a few missing parts or the factory drawings, measurements, and some pictures, to try make them from. Missing is the set of cowl stainless trims, both of rear bumper and brackets, rear door’s top body hinge, and pair of tail light brackets. Also I would like to find the extra hood trims I think are called Water Falls (fit on the sides of center hood trim) and Cat Whiskers (these were also used on the Pickups). With the exception of the hood and cowl trims 1940 parts would be the same.

I have a delivery now, and have had two previous.

The delivery only came with one Tail/Stop Light.

Two lights were optional

I know someone makes reproductions of the other light stand. I am not sure of who it is. Maybe someone else will see this and respond for you.

The trim is really a problem because it was specific to that one year, AND, that one model.

Good Luck,

Give Early Ford a call. The number is 1-319-448-4592, located in Walker, Iowa. The owners name is Lowell E. Meier. Check out my post about this good man above. I think the best times to call may be before 11:00 AM, Central Time. Mike

Thanks very much for the Tips uba40 & 46yblock.

uba40 is there a chance that you could make a outline tracing of your bumper bracket ends were the bumper bolts on, and the shape end to end of the rear bumper (I have heard they have less or no curve to them then do the car bumpers to bring it closer to body)? I think I could rework a set of car bumper brackets and bumper if I knew the length and what their shape is? Also could use an outline tracing of the upper body hinge for rear door with the bolt hole locations and I think I would able to make one. Thank you very much for any help, Bob

Rear bumper brackets

Bubba,

Please email me in about two weeks. I will be going out to where I have the delivery stored. I will be happy to trace them for you assuming I have them. I have an enormous amount of 1940 through 1947 Ford parts and cars and commercial.

My aging cranium cannot remember my inventory any longer.

Regards,

uba40

uba40, You said you have alot of '40 fords parts, do you have any cabs that a guy could join together? Also what other cabs are a direct match to the '40 such as the '39 etc.?

The 40 & 41 Cabs are near identical externally and up to a 47 cab will also look close on the out side though they did change the gas filler hole to the passenger side.

The same basic cab was used from '40-'47 with minor differences, but they are basically interchangable.
