body swap checklist

I plan in the near future to swap a 1973 2wd body onto my '79 4wd chassis. I'm going to get new weatherstripping and I've got plenty of help. I also plan on rewiring the whole thing at the same time. I ordered a Centech wiring harness. I just really don;t know what else I might need. Anybody have any other ideas that I havn;t thought of.

Plenty of PB blaster for those stuck bolts and perhaps some undercoating for the body before you put it back on.

I'm a few months into my swap ('66 F250 4x2 on '76 F250 4x4), not a lot of progress yet due to the cold weather but things should be picking up soon. I have pics here.

A jigsaw to cut the opening for the transfer case shifter. I put a 2wd cab on a 4wd frame once myself. I used poly cab bushings and had *just* enough room under the cab for the transfer case. A short ( 1" ) body lift would help this greatly.

I am just about to do the same thing. A 76 2wd crew cab body onto a 78 4x4 frame. The 76 has a/c. Does anyone know how much work it is to pull this intact with the cab or do I have to take it apart. I know nothing about a/c except that I want to keep it.

Will I need the body mount bushings or the actual body mounts.
A bushing and bolt kit like the one in the NPD catalog

Depending on the condition of the cab I think that new bushings and bolts are in order. The mounts if needed should be repaired/fixed while the body is off. I think Bushings and bolts are all you need.
