7.3 psd 100,000 mile warranty cover seals?
HELLO OUT THERE............ Ive been reading alot of posts about oil leaks on this engine, mine has a oil leak too.I have 80.000 on the truck .Does anyone know if the ford warranty covers seals like the HPOP o rings or the rear main seal? My gaurdian warranty does not cover seals and id hate to bring it to the stealership only to find out I owe them a big chunck of change for changing a seal I could of gotten fixed for a hell of alot cheaper somewhere else. ..............much obliged for any and all resposes
Warranty is 5 years 100,000 miles and may or may not cover HPOP seals. It should cover the rear main seal. You would have a $100 deductible to pay - I would call the dealership and ask them. Compare what they say to the answers you get here and go from there.
Information from the manual on my 95:
Certain diesel engine components are covered against defect in factory-supplied materials or workmanship for 5 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. A $100 deductible per repair visit applies after the original 3/36 warranty expires.
Covered components: culinder lbock, heads and all internal parts, intake & exhuast manifolds, flywheel, timing gear, harmonic balancer, valve covers, oil pan and oil pump, water pump, fuel pump and fuel system (excluding fuel lines and fuel tank), high pressure lines, gaskets and seals, glow plugs, turbo, PCM, EDU, injectors, IPS, high pressure oil regulator, EBP regulater and sensor, CPS, accelerator switch (I assume throttle position sensor).
Looks like engine crank seals and high pressure lines are covered. HOPOP is also part of the fuel system. Make sure on your inservice date, any Ford dealer can give that to you off the VIN number. Warranty period starts when the vehicle is first titled, not when it is built.
