I won a DSB case in October on a 2004 F150. Chose a replacement, and got a 2005 F-250 XLT. Posted some additional info on the F-150 page a couple of days ago.
I chose to go DSB rather than Lemon Law as there were advantages in my particular case.
Thanks again Tim for your response. Here is the short version of the history that lead FMC to offer to replace my truck. I said it was deemed a lemon because from my understanding of California's lemon law, I will be able to enforce it if I so choose.
The major troubles started at 14k miles. After over four stints at the dealerships garage (three times for over a week), an International Harvester engineer from Detroit trying his best--twice on separate occasions, the engine would cut-out the dashboard would would go dead electricaly, engine lose power and often actually stall. Then as fast as the trouble would start it would go away, sometimes for a week, sometimes for a day, sometimes for an hour. This problem, in addition to a leaking head gasket and the check engine light going on and off almost daily, coupled with the back side of the driver's mirror falling off at regular intervals, I had reached a point of no return with this vehicle.
I use this truck for my livelyhood, so my threshold of grief and loss of income has been surpassed. Ford has offered to replace the truck, and I feel this will be the quickest way to get back into a dependable vehicle and compensate me for the trouble. My 95 F-250 w/ 7.3L PSD was totaled in an accident this time last year; what a dependable machine that was.
