Convert Eddie Bauer from 2wd to 4wd

Is it possible to convert a 1997 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer 2wd into 4wd?
If it can be done, what's the expence?

More than buying a good used 97 EB.

Well...probably not that much...but certainly not worth the hassle, IMHO.

It would take a donor truck. Like Ken said, it would be cheaper to buy another truck unless you could find one totalled and use the drivetrain. Problem is these trucks are so popular that even a rebuilder will cost you.

Unfortunatly the suspension pickup points are completely different. All of the mounts are different. You would have to clip the frame. Take a look at the Haynes book, it shows a good picture of the underside of the 4wd and 2wd fronts. The other option would be to lift it high enough to go with a solid axle.
