filler for rust pitted frame ?

Could anyone recommend a product that I can use over epoxy primer on my sand blasted frame to fill the rust pitts ? I entend to spray epoxy over the filler to encapsulate it when I get it in good shape. What are the thoughts about using products over the final paint to stop paint chips etc. Thanks, Jeff

Since the frame is exposes to the elements, I would suggest using a fiberglass based filler.

What type of product are you thinking about to protect the paint?

I was thinking of using a Glidden epoxy that is considered an automotive primer however, it is a semi-gloss black and my supplier sayes that large truck shops buy a lot of it for frames, underneath etc. because UV rays will fade this in time. I wondered if a rhino liner type of product might work as a top coat for the frame, underside of cab & fenders etc. as well. I don't really know what I want, so please suggest something that has worked for you in the past. I will want to drive my truck in the summer ( Canada = salt ) probably no more than 2000 mi. per year. Thanks

Zero Rust. I just purchased my first gallon and have started painting inside my doors and under the fenders etc., It looks great, easy to touch up and best of all it stops rust. You can get it in assorted colors and its reasonably priced.

Probably a little late. But if you want to fill the pits the best product I've found is Z-chrome Rust Defender. This a sprayable polyester product that sands much easier than plastic filler and has an unbelieveable build. Feather Fill is garbage compared to this product. Spray it, sand it with 80 grit, then finish with primers as usual.
Of course if you just want to protect the frame and don't care about the pits showing products such as Chassis Saver, POR, and Zero Rust are the best.
