Gas smell inside on right turns

I have an 93 E150, with a 5.0L motor. With anything over a half tank of gas, I get a real strong fuel order on right hand turns. There does not appier to be a leak at all. Any thing common I can check. I have not dropped the tank yet to check the lines, how hard is it to do? Thanks for any help.

Check the filler hose and vent hose off tank. My '92 they were both cracked(rotted), hoses are stdealer parts, take you money! I used a 1/4 rachet on top of the tank to loosen the hose clamps.

I did not drop the tank. It was a few years ago. I had marks on the side of the tank from the gas dripping down(like when the fuel goes down the side of your truck). The clamp was tight. I pulled it off to get a look.

Thanks alot, I will check that out. Got running boards on it, so not to easy to get under it.[OK maybe my 250lbs has something to do with it] Guess I got to get it in, and up in the air and check. Been kinda ignoreing it wor a few years, but now I have a young baby, and want to fix it. Thanks for the tips.

Vent Tube

Same problem with my 95 Ford van and you are right, the running boards make everything you do under the truck harder! We put the truck on jackstands front and rear and I used a magnetic light I got from Sears to light things up on top of the tank. I found a big hole in the side of the vent tube and removed it. Took it to Ford and they gave me a new one for 18 bucks that had the clamp already on the hose where it attaches to the tank. I used a round hand ratchet(Sears) and had just enought room to tighten the clamp. The only problem I had was the new hose was about two inches short of the fitting on the gas flange. I cut the hose in half near the middle and added a 4" piece of copper pipe and added two more stainless clamps and everything fit just fine. FORD, Always an adventure!

Good luck!

Yes, the filler hose and vent hose will rot.... The filler hose is the same as a plymouth laser's...... I know that's what's on my '92....
