I have a 74 f250 4x4 with an in-cab gas tank. the tank is rusted bad and unuseable. I have looked at a few gas tanks but it never said if it was an in-cab tank. Always just says rear tank or rear mount tank, or behind axle tank. Does anyone have any idea where I can get a new tank?????
is there anyway to clean a tank? a guy at a local shop told me that there used to be some kind of acid mixture you could clean them with??? i have also been told pea gravel or power washing?????
It will definitely get a lot of the junk out. My bro used it on his motorcycle gas tank. Made it useable again. You could also try a liquid rust remover in between two seafoam treatments.

Was the motorcycle tank full of varnished, old fuel? I've got a plastic, rear tank out of a 73 that needs a good cleaning. I was gonna pour Berryman's carb dip in it and try that, but if seafoam has worked in the past I may try it instead.

Yep. It had been sitting quite a while. Had really old gas and rust both. I believe he put a bunch in there, swished it around a bunch, let it set over night, swished it around again. He might have done that a couple of times, but now it's useable and back on the bike.
they actually make coating (look for it for motorcycle tanks) specifically for this purpose! If you do decide just to swish some mystery oil around in there and use it, you might want to change your fuel filter on a per fuel tank basis for the first few tanks.
this link seems to have everything you would need!
That's pretty sweet! I'm eventually going to convert my single tank to duals. If I end up needing to put in a used tank, I'll definitely give that stuff a go.
