1942 Ford Truck parts

Hello everyone, I'm in the process of buying a 1942 Truck.I'm not in possesion of it yet. My question is from 1/2 ton up are the cabs, fenders ,grille etc. the same and interchangable? What weight ratings go together? Are the years 42-46 virtually the same also? All your help is appreciated. Thanks, Greg

The 42-47 are identical. The cabs from larger trucks can be used on smaller trucks, Ford lists no different numbers for them. The bigger (1.5 ton up have different fenders, they have larger wheel openings than the 1/2 and 1 ton. Grille and hood should interchange with the bigger trucks, as well as cab metal. Suspension and steering is diffeernt from 1/2 ton, to 1 ton, and up and up.
