Hi, I am new user and trying to post a request. I am getting started with a '42 one ton PU. The rear fender on both sides have been trimmed off on the trailing edge to make room for a homemade farm bumper. I need a good photo (close as possible) of the fender so one can be fabricated. My other choice is to go to a stake bed where photo would also be useful. I am sure I will have other requests for info/suggestions down the road.
Thanks
here is the front bumper, i believe it is the same as the rear one (at least on mine it is)...hope this helps
id take a couple of the rear, but right now the truck is getting worked on (original style rims/hubcaps put on, new tires, new brakes, new floorboards), so its gone for about a week
bob drake has floorboards (www.bobdrake.com). you could also try dennis carpenter (http://www.dennis-carpenter.com) and look in the online catalog. although i believe my dad got ours from some smaller place in michigan...i cant remember the name though. they were like maybe 75 per side
Those rear fenders aren't 46 are they? Looks like 49 or 50. I am missing the trailing edges, about 2 or 3 inches as near as I can tell. That is about where the slope changed to more verticle. I wish someone would allow me to make a fiberglass mold from their fenders????
Your truck looks like it is in great shape!
yeah, the fenders are not from the 42-46 years...some 30 years ago someone put them on there, but they fit pretty well with the rest of the truck (at least in my opinion) also, and the grille pieces are slightly wrong. thanks for the compliments though- do you have any pictures of yours?
Yes, early on when I puchased it. However, they are on my laptop and it is in the shop til after holidays. I plan to post them here once I figure out how!: I have been installing a rebuilt generator this morning. Local shop did it for $45 and it looks new (6V).
I'll try to look for good pic of some rear fenders for you...best I can do right now is if you take a look at my website, I have a few pictures of one of my '46's. You can find a link to my site at the bottom of this post. Look at the page titled "'46 Ford Pickup" I can't get any better pix until the end of January when I get back to Southern California and my trucks. If you can't find any help by then I will do the best i can to help you out at the end of January.
Thanks. I have looked at OFP's site as a backup. However, my fenders are in good shape except for the inch or so that was trimmed off. I want to fap a piece but I need the shape.
The very end of the fender should slope down alot like the half tons do.
I'm having some computer trouble right now, but I do have some pictures of the ends of my fenders but they are in some weird file type that I can't read. Maybe I'll be able to get them posted sometime soon.
