Alright fellers and fellettes..,I purchased a roll back tonneau cover from Rough Country and it was the worst purchase from them, to date. Although, the installation was easy, they failed to send spacers or at least, engineer the piece of crap correctly, so it actually fit my truck. Well, that is a major fail on their part…and funny enough, they don’t even sell it anymore. The gaskets SUCK, the rubber gasket between the cover and tailgate shrank causing water to get in the bed…it sucks. I’m a Firefighter, so, my gear needs to stay dry, but not in the cab of my truck. So, being a Rough Country dealer…amongst 1,300 other brands from off road, bumpers, winches, lights and emergency vehicles, I represent it all. I opted to venture outside the box and looked at Diamondback and Peragon. The Peragon is pricey…$2400 before any price savings…but shipping via freight is FREE. Let me say….it was THE BEST freight shipment I have ever received. The box had a typical logistics forklift snafoo, but there was enough of a buffer between the box, pallet and product. The instructions were spot on, took me about 8 beers, a few good farts and I got it installed. I’m sure a younger “get er done” would have it installed and off to his pedicure before his boytoy got home. But let’s face it…I’m 53, don’t give a flying f*uck about playing in the bed of my truck while burning my arm pits on scalding hot *** plastic…and my fat, old *** needs plenty of fluids. Shhhhh, don’t tell my wife that I gave a secret stash in the garage.
Anywho, the Peragon Tectonic was very easy to install..using the instructions and guide. Plus, it helps that I’m born and raised a Wisconsin feller..,and they are a Wisconsin company. But hey, it fits my 2017 F-Tree Fitty like OJ Simpsons white glove…,perfectly! And I can admit..:that I cannot acquit the guilty party…Peragon! This is truly a pricey but worth it, purchase. Diamondback does not have the features like the Peragon.
Nice! I saw those when they were getting ready to release them a little while back. They do look interesting, and by far the best looking tonneau Peragon makes. For that price though I’d be happy to wait for them to be out for a while and hear real world feedback back on them. You wanna talk about an crappy tonneau, check out the Bakflip MX4! lol. Anyway, at that price I’d probably just hop up to Diamondback if I wanted to stick with a tonneau. I’ve been eyeing those Smart Caps though for when I can replace my tonneau…
