Hey all,
The abs module in my 2011 is bad. No abs, no traction control, and no hill descent. Ford wants $3k for a new pump, module, programming and replacing like one corroded wire. I don't think so, not for a 15 year old truck.
Can I toss a used module in my truck while I send out my old one for repair and still have the truck function as it is now? Or do I need to park the truck for a few days until my unit is back to me.
If I replace the pump (which I doubt is bad) I think there's a specific way to bleed it, but if that is the case, what's the best way to do this.
Or, can I program a used or new module with forscan?
watch the video for module removal. you can drive the truck without it installed, just cover the pump face to prevent contamination and pull associated ABS fuses. Module repair pros did an awesome job on mine and turn around was quick. Best thing about getting it repaired is you not need to get it reprogrammed.

How much was the repair?
I just had this on a '14 6.7. Back probing the RCM, I was able to get a happy signal or sad signal by just shoving the ABS module connector left/right.
The customer declined repair but my OCD wants to encourage them to fix it. It randomly panics and dings when driving.
The bummer with the 6.7 is access: you gotta pull the monstrous degas/batt tray combo. You might be able to come thru the inner fender if you use inspection mirrors, borescopes, and have child hands

Ok knowing that I can still drive the truck with the module out is going to be a godsend. Thank you for that info! The company I was looking to use is called circuit board medics, but I'll look into the module repair pro people as well.

I tried this on my 2010 Navigator before I had my current vehicle in my signature. It did not fix the issue, and I ended up being out the money that I paid to a journeyman mechanic to have the used module coded for my VIN. I'm sure he did it right, I watched him do it over his shoulder. I don't believe you can program it with Forscan, but I'm happy to be wrong about that.
I never ended up tracking it down, my brother in law has a used car lot and made me an offer on the vehicle so I took it. The Navi was getting to be a basket case anyway.
