Need advice and sheet metal

I am currently working on a 1946 1/2 ton and was doing a mockup of the front fender and running boards. When I put it together there is a gap between the rear of the front fender and the running board. Am I missing a piece that goes on the bottom of the rear of the front fender? If so anybody know what it is called so I can try and find this piece. Sure would have been nice if it would have all been assembled when I got it. Hoping for your reply and maybe a source for the whatchamacallit.

Thank you in advance
Ed

With the running boards attached to their mounting points and both front and rear fenders installed, there will be no appreciable gap between either of the fenders and board ends. I can see no way for either the fenders or running boards to be mounted up so as to cause any large gap between them.
