Leaky brake line misery

Got some damaged seats(?) on these original parts and the new brake lines won't seal. This is for a 1968 F250, 2WD with discs up front. Isn't there a differential valve/proportion valve that will replace both of these? I know I probably have the part names wrong.

Summit lists GM style proportioning valve (bottom pic) that looks like it would. Anybody have any experience with this?

When I upgraded to front disk brakes I got all of my parts off a 72 year model. I got the complete I-beam assembly, MC, prop valve and petal. So look for a later model when disk brakes were more std. I did have to make a bracket to mount it on the frame and plumb it in. It will be a single unit.

I have that same proportioning valve on my 68 Camaro and it works fine
I made the swap from front drum to disc, and still have drum rears, works great

Thanks. I swapped in discs from a '72 and this is my first brake plumbing job.

I take it you can bend and double flare pipe
Mine came with a mounting bracket for hanging it below the MC
Have fun, you'll love it

I'm learning. I bought a bending/flaring kit and had mixed results so I bought a better tool for flaring. Only way to learn is try, fail and try again, right?

Right, and don't be surprised if you split some brake line learning and smashing too far etc.
I find the new China brake line to be crap and it's hard to flare (for me personally)
So, I bought an old roll of NOS Ford brake line on Ebay and now I'm set for life hopefully
I still use the precut and flared lengths from Autozone too, but have to re flare them when they split

The #1 mistake made is forgetting to put the nut on before you flare the end. I use an old flaring kit mad by Ridgid, had it for 40+ yrs. The new hyd flaring tools make it look easy,

I started with a cheesy Harbor Freight tool. That didnt go over well. I got a good tool and had to re-double flare all my brake lines.
And, Ive had to cut my double flares off to put the fitting on as well.

Which tool did you buy? I have this one and it seems to make a decent looking flare, but the also creates a bluge in the line that interferes with the fitting.

I dont remember the brand without looking at it but I found it on Amazon, I think. I like it because you dont have to do it by feel how the HF one was. I also made the flares crooked. This one, you just pull the handle back and done. Perfect flares every time. The only reason I got that was I planned on doing minimum of three trucks, my 72, 70, and my dads 66 ford trucks.

This type of flaring tool gives a very good double flair and is made to only do 3/16" line its not a do all sizes okay but one size very well.
