The older you get the faster time flies...Can't believe it is already the fifth month of the year.
Anyway to all who are left, here is the May all-top thread, a day early, so I don't forget.
TGIF Nor-Cal!
Section 8 lowered my portion of the rent for this month and next, and yesterday the landlord raised my rent $71 starting in July. I went from paying $368 a month to $319 a month. I am praying that section 8 will absorb the $71 so I can keep my portio at $319. We will see what happens.
I’m just sitting here watching grass grow , I just mowed it and it seems it’s already grew 3/4” per 1 hr, the earth is still making dew and the creek is still running slowly , Oregon has just put six county’s in a drought conditions, unfortunately we’re in one of those counties, I’m gearing up for Tuesdays Halbut fishing trip , hopefully the seas will be calm .

Grass is growing like crazy here too. April was one of the wettest Aprils I can remember (nearly 10" total for the month).
The situation was made worse when I discovered that our walk-behind mower needed a new carburetor. When the mower sits for 9 months of the year, the old carb just doesn't like it (even though I run the carb dry on shutdown).
When a replacement turned from days to weeks, I broke down and got a 42" electric zero-turn mower. Wow! What a difference! It took me at least 3-4 hours to do our approximately 2 acres with the gas-powered walk-behind, and now I do the whole shebang in less than an hour. My only challenge is that it won't dry out enough to get out there and mow it.
Well, we broke 100* up here at the Nort End of the state yesterday. Supposed to be hotter tomorrow and I’m battling vehicle AC units not working in several of them.
