Looking for advice or guidance on how to wrap seat cover (Back) lower (corners) around seat brackets. I spoke to SMS and they told me they have been using same patterns for years. I thought the corner should be made with accommodations for the brackets. I'm sure someone out there has seen this challenge. Are you cutting slits to accommodate mounting brackets where cover wraps in lower corners? Its a brand new EXPENSIVE cover and I do not see how else I can wrap around lower corners of seat back without cutting??
Thanks Chad, It looks like there is a split in yours with piping along each edge of the split?? The piping strip that is wrapped around...is that torn from the material? Mine does not have any relief slit/cut in pattern. Its just completely rounded.
Ford tended to use the extra piping to help secure the edges. I'm not going to take that apart but they just folded up the piping back onto itself and used the hog ring to secure it. I do have a picture of the covers from the Ranger seats showing they did something very similar.
Looking at this eBay ad for the TMI seat covers for the Mustang they reproduce that extra length of piping. I guess SMS isn't doing that, but it seems like they should if they want it to be fastened the same way.
Wow, that looks awesome, Congratulations on the fantastic progress. Now post some more pictures so we can appreciate the whole ensemble. By the way, what color is that? It looks like the same color that was on our '70 F250 crew cab, that my father always called "Ford Blue" or "Fjord Blue", but it probably had a different name too.

Wow. As nice on the outside as it is on the inside.
I agree, that looks fantastic. I have never been a big fan of the stepside...fleetside..whatever they are called trucks, but the long wheelbase version, has changed my mind. I know, very subtle differences so why? I can't say, but when I see this and the one out of the great state of Texas, belonging to @66ford250bigblue , I can't help but want one. Does anyone know if I have a rich aunt or uncle out there? I could really use some funds to support my growing addiction to vintage ford trucks.
This beauty even sports four wheel drive, giving it something that was rare at the time. A real beauty I hope you will post even more photo's so we can study the lines and share in your success in bringing this cool ride back towards its previous glory.
Congratulations on a job well done, and thanks for sharing!!
