I have a 2008 f150 5.4 my question is sometimes the engine cranks and no start and when you release the key it contin. ⁴.ues to crank until you turn the key off..I have checked codes the only one that comes up is a p1000
I have tested the starter and solenoid both test good any insight would be greatly appreciated thank you in advance
the tap to crank is working perfectly. The issue is your engine is not starting right away. any codes ?
it starts sometimes and when you release the key from start to just on the starter continues to crank engine and does not stop until you turn the key off. Only code was a p1000.

Reason: Wanted to add the code I had gotten.
is Mark68 and Mr Brown the same person ? the 08 has a tap to start feature, you just tap the key to start and let go...it will crank the motor till it starts. If it don't start you will need to shut it off, cause it will continue to crank the motor till it starts or the battery dies or the starter burns up. P1000 is a drive cycle code, nothing wrong, means you have not completed a full drive cycle yet. it will eventually go away.
Yes same person I couldn't get into my original account so I made another and somehow I got into my old account again. I am new to this year of truck and never heard of the tap to start feature.i have owned the truck for a month now and didn't have a problem until last week with it not wanting to start every time im thinking it might be a fuel delivery problem not sure though I am in the process of checking fuses and relays any other advice you could give me would be greatly appreciated thank you
check the condition of your Fuel Pump Driver Module (FPDM) located under the spare tire mounted to the frame rail. The back side of this module loves to corrode and split open and will cause all kinds of issues. The new version comes with stand-offs to prevent this. Also check its ground to the frame rail near by.
