My 7.3 Godzilla has been sitting for over two months and it will probably be another two months before it gets any use so I would like to do an intermediate "pre-oil" by cranking with the starter without ignition or fuel flow. (I would prefer not to start it up because it would probably never make it up to operating temperature.) Is there any practical way to disable spark and fuel flow to accomplish this? Will the variable speed oil pump cooperate?
I have never primed a motor even after sitting for 6 months like my 4.6L SOHC 2v. I know some people want to minimize wear on their engines but on a mass production pre-assembled and already run motor like the 7.3 gas I fail to see the necessity. That's just me though.

I have 15 vehicles here that sit for 6 months to a few years at a time ( including the 7.3 in my 2022 that hasn't been started since October 4th) I've never done anything except turn the key and start them. Some I have owned for 40 years without failure. I do no storage shut down fogging or start up prep for any of them.
Turning over the engine to oil it will cause more wear then not turning over the engine. Just start it up and go for a 15 min drive. It will also circulate fluids in the transmission, diffs, etc.
