AOD question
I have a 86 Bronco with a tired AOD. I also have a 89 2wd AOD that has 4R70W planetaries that I was going to use in the Bronco. Will the 86 output shaft work in the 89 case? I know there were some lube circuit and accumulator changes in 89. I would like to use the better case due to 351 swap plans. I was going to use a Transgo shift kit that lets you tune the 1-2 shift.

Just an update if anyone is interested. I found a 89 4x4 output shaft from a trans shop in NJ. Got the trans built with 4r70W internals. Used the Transgo shift kit and installed the blue spring for the 1-2 capacity valve and a low speed governor. Trans shifts great and does not wind out 1st gear at all. The lower 1st gear ratio is very nice too. Highly recommend for an AOD build.
