The AOD never came behind the 5.8L. It was only behind the 5.0L TO get it bolted up to the 5.8L, you'll need the flyweel form the 5.0L the AOD came from.
If it's a Ford transfer case, it should bolt to the adapter on the back of the AOD. The AOD came with BW1345 and NP208. I've got a BW1356 on the back of mine right now.

Actually the AOD did come behind the 5.8.. in a Crown Vic, so the correct flexplate is available used and new. The 5.8 is also a 28oz imbalance while the 5.0 was 50oz after 1981, so you want to get the correct flexplate for it to avoid a vibration problem.
