need assistance finding replacement spring bushings
I disassembled the front suspension on my 62 F100 uni (the bushings were BAD-some worse than others) and finding replacement stock bushings seems almost impossible. National Parts Depot lists them (but they are "out of stock"). LMC has only the rear bushing in stock and no listing at all for the front two on the shackle.
I found mine at a local leaf spring manufacturer in Calgary Alberta Canada. Cheaper than online sellers. Unfortunately with the tariffs from the USA government it’s probably not worth it to have them shipped from here. Try a local spring shop near you. Doug.
THANK YOU @Muppy1840
I think I have been on their web site before but I must not have been looking for spring bushings at the time. I will get them ordered, I've cleaned up the leaves but will paint them and hopefully find the "button cushion??" that goes on a couple of the leaves.
For what it is worth.........I ordered the spring bushings, I've received the bushings for the front of the spring...........however, the big bushing for the rear of the spring is on back order from CPP. I checked Dennis Carpenter and they are back ordered also.
I should have been "on the ball" and ordered them months ago...come to think of it....I'd better order the bushings for the rear springs now...so I can have them in the spring.
I see in your original post that you tried NDP but my search says they have them in stock. Maybe they got more in. The listing for the bushing with the bolt shows out of stock. If you need new bolts just go to a local bolt supplier and get some grade 8 bolts to replace. I bought some longer bolts so the unthreaded section was longer to sit inside the bushing. Just cut off the extra thread that sticks out. Doug.
less than $40 including shipping. I should have done more "searching" before I ordered, I found that Posies also have the bushings with the shackles, about the same price but included the shackles I will be making new shackles myself.
Thanks for your interest and assistance,
Marv
EDIT EDIT The bushing they sent wasn't for my application...and I can't replicate how I found it. It is the right diameter but too long, I may just cut it down to size Second Edit....I ended up cutting about an inch off of each bushing to "enable" it to fit. I have a small Craftsman lathe and it took awhile They are now installed in the springs. Awaiting for the sliding "cushions" to assembled the spring pack.
