Alright I need some help here, I'm in the process of overhauling much of my truck and I have found that all the bushings are word out. It is a 1986 F-350 4X4. I am looking for the bushings that go in both ends of the leaf springs, and the shackles in the front that go into the frame. Anyone know of a place I can pick these up?
Any local spring/suspension house should have those parts in stock. Here in Baltimore, there are 2 such places in town: Middleton Meade, Fallsway Spring
autozone and advance auto carrys the radius arm bushings and leaf spring bushings but you might want to look into the type that the parts store carry and if you plan onm keeping the truck much longer. the time it takes to replace them you might want to go with something that will last much longer. they usually don't cost much more and i don't recommend the ones az carries they wear out much faster. i had to replace mine after 3 years and wish now i got the good ones the first time.
Well I plan on keeping this truck for the rest of my life so I want to do it right. Tried at autozone already and they looked at me like i was stupid so i havent really looked since! Is thier anyone that sells a kit with all these bushings you know of?
You might want to look at the LMC Truck site, they'll send you a free catalog I know they have bushings for 1/2 ton & 3/4 ton ford 1973-86 ,don't know about 350... www.LMCTRUCK.com
I had a local 4x4 shop order me some energy suspension poly bushings.. can't remember how much $$$ it was, but I remember it wasn't that expensive.. A call to summit racing should provide good results.. or talk to any energy suspension dealer..
btw, F250 bushings will work on an F350.. same setup..
ford would also be able to order stock rubber ones.
btw, there are two different types of rear shackle bushings.. Don't remember the details, I thought I'd mention it though.
